Concert: Pigeon Top (8:00 PM)

Four mighty talents have joined forces to become Pigeon Top: Shane McAleer whose distinctive power fiddle playing bolstered the sound of Dervish for seven years in their heydey; Darragh Murphy with his unique, masterful piping: Ryan O'Donnell providing solid backing on a range of all things string; and Kevin Sweeney with his Americana flavoured vocals. With the subtle variety of pulsing trad tunes and kickin' American folk/blues songs, it's no wonder the band have been described as one of the most exciting up and coming acts.

Support act: Ruadhraí O'Kane, Desy Adams and Stevie Dunne.

Culture Night belfast (5:00 PM)

We are delighted to take part in the 2nd annual Culture Night Belfast. Inspired by the success of events in capitals such as Reykjavic, Copenhagen and Dublin, Belfast's own Culture Night will see a lively citywide celebration of culture at venues, on streets and public spaces. The evening will give opportunities to people of all ages to try out many of those different types of experiences that make Belfast's cultural output so rich.

Our early evening contribution to the city's celebration will include the launch of a series of temporary murals depicting the story of An Chultúrlann. We will also hold an outdoor street céilí with instruction for beginners, live traditional music sessions and performances and the finest refreshments from Caifé Feirste. Come along and enjoy the best of The Gaeltacht Quarter's contribution to Culture Night Belfast.

A free event.
